Yewbarrow Cottage is located in the village of Santon Village, Cumbria. The Santon Bridge Inn is just a ten minute walk from the cottage and serves good food and ale.
Beautiful Wasdale is only a ten minute drive away and boasts England's deepest lake, Wastwater, its highest mountain, Scafell and smallest church, St Olaf's.
Eskdale is another lovely valley, only ten minutes drive away, with hundreds of river and mountain walks. It also houses a terminus for the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway - a popular miniature railway that travels seven scenic miles to the coastal fishing village of Ravenglass. Muncaster Castle, Gardens and Owl Centre is fifteen minutes away and hosts many activities, especially for children.

Accommodation: Ground Floor: Sitting Room with wood burning stove, television and dvd player. Fully equipped kitchen with dining area and underfloor heating. WC and washbasin. First Floor:
Bedroom with King-size Bed. Bathroom with shower over, toilet and washbasin. Landing study/library area. Attic Room with low ceiling and steep stairs: Double Bedroom with an extra pull out child's mattress.
Outside: There is a lovely garden area to the rear of the cottage with a seating area and fantastic views of the Lakeland fells. An outbuilding houses a washer/dryer. Parking is at front of the cottage or on the grass over the road. One well behaved pet is welcome, please ensure pets are not left alone in the property, are kept off the furniture and out of the bedrooms.

To reach Yewbarrow Cottage in Santon Village, Cumbria, from the South, leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 for Kendal/Lakes.
Follow signs to Barrow (A590). Turn right to Workington (A5092).
Follow the coastal road (A595) through Bootle & Waberthwaite.
Go past Ravenglass and after a couple of miles turn right towards Santon (just before the Esso garage on the left). Make your way to Santon Village and at the end of the road turn left. Go along this road, over the bridge, past the Santon Bridge Inn and keep going for half a mile. There are a row of terraced cottages on your right hand side. Yewbarrow Cottage is the no 5.
From the North, leave the M6 at Carlisle (junction 44) (or Junction 40 at Penrith if coming from the South) and follow the A595 (signed Barrow). A few miles after you have gone through Calder Bridge and turn off right to Gosforth (it is well signed). Turn left at the mini roundabout (where there is a triangle of pubs). Go past the shops then take the next right to Eskdale. After a few miles you will come to a row of terraced cottages, no 5, Yewbarrow Cottage, is the third cottage along. If you reach the Santon Bridge Inn then you have gone too far.
