Boating hire is available during the summer - you could visit the Hermitage further upstream believed to have been built by a hermit in the 14th century, or maybe travel downstream giving you the ideal opportunity to study the magnificent flora and fauna, seals and otters, or how about a spot of fishing.
Warkworth has a variety of shops selling anything from antiques to crafts. The village has an excellent sandy beach nearby, with plenty of river walks along the River Coquet. Warkworth Castle is also open to the public. For those relaxing evenings why not head into the village and visit the numerous restaurants and local pubs.
Further south along the River Coquet sits Amble. Amble has fishing and a marina with launch facilities. Alnwick is also nearby and plays host to the 'Alnwick Fair' and 'International Music Festival'. Alnwick Gardens and Alnwick Castle have been the setting for many films including 'Elizabeth' and 'Harry Potter', both are open daily.
