The property is only a short walk from a country pub and is located in an excellent position for bird watching. It is only one mile from Slaithwaite, which has pubs, restaurants and a small supermarket. Seven miles from Huddersfield, this Cottage makes an ideal base for hiking, horse riding, hang gliding and it is also close to the highest and longest canal tunnel in England. A little further afield are the huge range of attractions in Manchester, Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield, all within only one hours car journey from this charming property.
Tyas Cottage near Slaithwaite in West Yorkshire is a lovely recently restored, Grade ll, early 18th century cottage and barn, to accommodate six guests. On site is the first water powered mill in the Colne Valley. This delightful property is beautifully furnished with English and Cape Dutch antiques, including a Georgian carved four poster bed and original paintings. The Cottage is very light and spacious, located at the bottom of a small sheltered valley with views of surrounding woodlands.
Downstairs there is a large kitchen/dining room with solid fuel cooker, in addition to an electric hob and oven. A twin bedroom, hallway with antique refectory table and downstairs shower room with wc, shower, washing machine and tumble dryer. A spiral staircase leads upstairs to a large living room with log burner and glazed door out to a terrace. The master bedroom has a four poster bed and ensuite bathroom. The double bedroom also as an ensuite bathroom. Tyas Cottage has been awarded the highest rating of five stars by Visit Britain.
