The Old Barn at Augié is located in rural Midi Pyrenees, France enjoying a magical setting tucked into the hillside and surrounded by thirteen acres of fields and woodlands, where you can wander and admire the distant views and varied wildlife, children can roam freely and everyone can relax and soak up the peace and quiet.
Nestling in the hills between the beautiful Lot and Dordogne river valleys in southern France, all our properties offer wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. Rocamadour, Cahors, Sarlat and Gourdon as well as innumerable chateaux, vineyards and colourful markets are all within easy reach. A car being essential to fully explore this lovely area.
The Old Barn at Augie in rural France has been lovingly converted, blending tradition with light and colour to make this a beautiful and relaxing holiday home. It lies to the west of the main building, with its own garden and large sunny terrace, ideal for enjoying a glass of the local Cahors wine as the sun sets slowly over the distant hills. The Old Barn offers luxury accommodation for up to 8 guests, with breathtaking views from all the principal rooms, as well as the terrace. It also makes a cosy holiday home for 2 or 4 guests by shutting off the upper floor.
Accommodation: The ground floor has a large sunny living room with leather sofas, large round pine dining table and fully fitted modern pine kitchen complete with electric oven/gas hob, dishwasher and microwave. The lovely stone fireplace in the living room boasts a very efficient woodstove so the Old Barn is ideal for an early spring or late autumn holiday. French windows lead onto the terrace, where you will find table, chairs, sun beds and barbecue.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two singles and a bathroom with full size bath, shower and wc.
A tiled staircase leads to the second floor, which has a large family room with two single beds and one double. Here you also have a large ensuite shower room/wc. All the rooms are colour co-ordinated and we have tiled throughout for easy maintenance.
On site is a magnificent 14 metre (46ft.) south facing swimming pool, shared with The Gîte, available around the clock and when lit up at night makes a wonderful place to stargaze. In the pool area, securely fenced for your peace of mind, you will find sun beds, water toys and a shady covered area with table and chairs. There is also a full size trampoline and badminton area (rackets provided). A washing machine and drying facilities are also at your disposal and the resident owners can usually be found for advice or information or even for booking a restaurant if needed.

To reach The Old Barn, Augie in Midi Pyrenees, France, travelling from the north, Paris and the UK. Take the A20 south, bypassing Limoges and Brive and exit at junction n° 57 (CAHOR NORD) and at the roundabout turn right, following directions for BRIVE and LIMOGES. You will then be on the D820 (Old N20) heading north. After approx. 4km turn left onto the D13 signposted MECHMONT, GIGOUZAC and then immediately right by the bus shelter towards GIROU. Follow this lane until it winds down to a crossroads in the valley and joins the D127 (approx. 2km). Turn left and after about 1km turn right towards MAS DE SIMON, LES FALGAYRAS (road that doubles back). This road climbs and twists for nearly 1km until you arrive at a fork where you keep left. Continue through the hamlet of LES FALGAYRAS and AUGIE lies just 700m beyond, the second dwelling on the left hand side.
