Property Location: Greta Hall in Keswick, Cumbria was the former home of the Lake Poets, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey. The Coach House is located at the rear of Greta Hall, high above the banks of the River Greta. There is a large, utilitarian garden and untamed woodland with river frontage.
Distance from town: The Coach House at Greta Hall offers unexpected seclusion only five minutes walk from Keswick town centre. Ideal for exploring Skiddaw, Latrigg, Derwentwater and the Borrowdale, Bassenthwaite and Newlands valleys.
Area activities: The Coach House is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists, families, historians; anyone wanting to relax and enjoy the Lakes.

The Coach House located behind the Hall is a large slate and cobble building offering five bedrooms to accommodate up to eleven guests. Principle rooms: The top floor features one large, fully equipped sitting/dining/kitchen room with an apex ceiling, exposed beams and a wood burning stove. There is also a double bedroom and a small gallery twin room. Bathroom. The ground floor has two double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, a triple room with adult sized bunks and a single bed. Under stair toilet and hand basin, washing machine and tumbler dryer.
Outside living areas: Shared large garden with lots of children's activities including trampoline, zip wire and rope swings over the River, BBQ a large vegetable garden and ample parking. Two dogs may be kept in the slated entrance hall, this measures approx. 10' x 3', fine for a couple of medium sized dogs. Baby gates are provided to keep dogs from the rest of the Coach House.

To reach The Coach House at Greta Hall, Keswick by car from the M6 motorway, exit at Junction 40 and follow the A66 west towards Keswick. Continue along the A66 Keswick by-pass, a dual carriageway. At the roundabout turn left towards Borrowdale and Keswick. Turn left at the T-junction. Go over the River Greta. Continue past the entrance to the Rawnsley Car Park, past the Co-Op and go straight over the mini roundabout. Turn first left into Stanger Street. Continue up the hill to the T-junction at the end of Stanger Street. Turn left onto the private unmade road, 5MPH speed limit - CHILDREN PLAYING. A five bar gate at the end of the road brings you into the grounds. The front door of the Coach House faces the river. Parking for three cars is directly in front of Coach House only, to ensure access to hydrants.
By public transport - Train to Penrith. Stage Coach buses leave Penrith Rail Station at 15 minutes past each hour, the journey is about 45 mins. Get off the bus at the bus station beside Booths supermarket. Greta Hall is just five minutes walk from here. The owners are happy to come and help you carry your luggage up to Greta Hall.
