The Coach House is located on The Kingston Estate, which is situated in the South Hams, Devon, encompassed by the tranquil surroundings of the beautiful South Devon countryside. As one of the finest surviving examples of early eighteenth century architecture in Britain today, Kingston House and its grounds are packed with history. The house and cottages are rated five stars. The beautifully restored self catering holiday cottages are situated in the 18th century cobbled courtyard.
The Coach House makes an ideal base for exploring this lovely part of Devon with a variety of activities available nearby including sailing, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and carriage driving. Kingston also now offers half price green fees at a range of golf courses within easy reach including Dinnaton, Elfordleigh, Yelverton, Wrangaton, Dartmouth Golf and Country Club and Dainton Park Golf Club.
The Coach House on The Kingston Estate forms half of the beautifully proportioned 18th Century break front coach house built at the same time as Kingston House 1726-1735. The house and cottages, rated five stars, are situated in the 18th century cobbled courtyard.
When entering this lovely cottage, guests are able to look up and see a 15th century beam with decorative carved faces. The property is very comfortable with a beautiful alcove fully equipped kitchen, with china and glass displayed on an open fronted traditional pine dresser. The cottage also has a lovely private terrace and garden, with views to the west towards Dartmoor, catching all the afternoon sunshine.
The Coach House has a spacious air, having a very high ceiling on the ground floor, with exposed beams and lighting, which enhances the traditional atmosphere of the cottage. Warm in winter and light and airy in summer. This property has two bedrooms and a bathroom to accommodate four guests. The Coach House has everything necessary to ensure a comfortable stay in the beautiful surroundings of The Kingston Estate.
The Kingston Estate is a pet friendly establishment. Pets are charged at £20 each and several dogs are welcome, this includes a free doggie pack on arrival. The estate is perfect for dogs, with fenced gardens, paddocks and a wood for short walks.
On site there is also a lovely indoor exercise pool, sauna, spa, mini gym with multi gym, rowing machine, cross trainer, static bicycle, snooker table for adults and table tennis table, please supply bats and balls.
