Copper Beech Farm is a family run dairy farm set in a peaceful rural setting, close to the bustling town of Kinsale in County Cork, Ireland.
Kinsale is an ancient sea faring town just six miles away, with its narrow winding streets and colourful shop fronts. Now known as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland, it boasts some of the finest restaurants in the country. Its pubs are also well known, many having music throughout the year. Charles Fort, Desmond Castle and St. Multose Church are historic buildings in the town and there are guided tours in the summer season, scenic harbour cruises are also available daily on a luxury vessel the Spirit of Kinsale.
Nearby sporting activities include the beautiful new parkland golf course at Farrangalway just a five minute drive, while within a thirty minute drive you have some of Ireland's best courses such as: The Old Head, Cork Golf Club; Harbour Point; Lee Valley, Muskerry Golf Club, Bandon Golf club and Fota Island Golf Club. Watersports can be found at The Oysterhaven Centre, ten miles away, and caters for every level and age group with a variety of watersports including kayaking, wind-surfing and sailing; while the Outdoor Education Centre in Kinsale caters for adventure sports like canoeing, archery, abseiling and rock-climbing. Follyfoot Riding Farm is one mile away and a qualified instructor is available for lessons. Quad bike and Paintball games are also available locally. Deep sea fishing can be arranged from Kinsale, boat hire is also available.
Nearby beaches include The Dock, a small safe beach just outside Kinsale. Garretstown is a twenty five minute drive and beaches in West Cork, including Inchadoney and Owenahincha are well worth a visit. A car is essential at The Barn.
The Barn at Copper Beech Farm near Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland is a fully equipped, 19th Century stone barn which has been beautifully restored and converted into a self contained holiday cottage. Many of the original features have been retained including exposed stone walls, timber panelled ceilings and wooden floors. This two bedroom property is able to accommodate five guests.
Accommodation: Living room with beamed ceiling, television and a wood burning stove, a half-door leads to a timber decked balcony with patio furniture, where you can admire the panoramic views of the rolling countryside. Fully equipped kitchen including cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. A welcome pack of tea/coffee and freshly baked scones is provided on arrival. Downstairs are two ensuite bedrooms, which can sleep five guests, plus a cot. The utility room under the stairs contains a washing machine and tumble drier.
Outside there is ample parking, spacious enclosed gardens and beautifully maintained flower beds. Children are especially welcome and will enjoy the children's playground.
