Distance from town: The Cottage is only four miles from the lovely historic market town of Alnwick. The town has several excellent restaurants, cafe bars, three supermarkets and many local stores selling fresh produce. Alnwick Castle and Gardens, made famous by the Harry Potter films, are well worth a visit, as is the nearby National Trust property Cragside.
Area activities: The Cottage is in a quiet and tranquil location set is stunning countryside. The area is superb for those who enjoy walking and outdoor activities. Northumberland's stunning beaches and castles are a mere ten minute drive away. A car is essential at this rural property.

To reach Swinhope Cottage in Overthwarts, near Edlingham, Northumberland, leave the A1 at Alnwick. Drive through the town and take the B6541 towards Rothbury for four miles. Turn right at the junction signposted Lemington Hall. Drive downhill and under a railway bridge. Take an immediate left turn when leaving the bridge. Follow the road to the Cottage.
