PROPERTY DETAILS
Sibeen Cottage in Ireland is situated 8kms west of Dingle town in the Irish speaking (Gaelteacht) area; a few minutes drive from a choice of superb beaches. There are lots of interesting activities available within a short distance such as dolphin watching, island trips, golf links, horse riding, 'play at height' indoor climbing walls and of course some very spectacular landscapes to explore. The Dingle area has been described by National Geographic magazine as the "most beautiful place on Earth".
The Cottage is in the town land of Bhaile Boithin between the villages of Ventry and Ballyferriter (Baillewiheen), facing onto Ireland's second highest mountain, Mount Brandon, across Smerwick Harbour on the north side of the Peninsula. There are numerous Neolithic, early Christian sites and ancient holy wells around the area, some only a stones throw away. Some of these locations are well known and appear on the tourist trails others are hidden and rarely found. When you go searching it does not take long to appreciate why those ancient holy men and women chose this place. A car is essential to fully explore this lovely area of Ireland.
