Distance from town: Aviemore lies 6 miles away, Grantown on Spey 10 miles and Inverness 31 miles. There are excellent road, rail and air links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the south.

Area activities: Superb location for touring the magnificent scenery throughout the Highland area, exploring the miles of golden sandy beaches along the Moray Firth coast with dolphin watching or visiting Royal Deeside. Golfing on championship courses, fishing on the River Spey and other waters, walking, climbing, sailing, bird watching, mountain biking, skiing, swimming and tennis to name a few. Follow the A9, north of Aviemore turn off at a junction to the right signposted Grantown on Spey. Proceed along this road, heading north and again turn right on the A95 to Grantown. One mile further on take a further right hand fork to Boat of Garten. Proceed through the village, past Boat of Garten Hotel, then turn right under the Strathspey Steam Railway Bridge, past the Golf Course and over the River Spey. At the T junction turn right signposted Coylumbridge and proceed for 0.5 miles. Mullingarroch Cottage is on the left hand side with the River Spey to the right hand side of the road.
