Property Location: Le Manchion in France is set at the end of a very quiet lane, within 15 minutes of Bayeux and 20 minutes from the Normandy Landing beaches. Lots of good restaurants and fascinating history in the area.
Distance from town: 5km to Balleroy and the nearest supermarket. 15km to Bayeux and about 40 minutes from the ferry port of Caen/Ouisterham.
Area activities: Wonderful quiet spot with large gardens. Plenty of walking and horse riding nearby. The Normandy Landing beaches, with excellent history and museums are within easy driving distance. A car is essential for exploration of this lovely part of France.

Furnishings & decorations: Well furnished with excellent beds, the house is very comfortable and has been modernised, but has also got lots of traditional features, like the beams and original tiles on the ground floor.
Outlook & views: The house is set in rolling countryside and has a barn and small house (not habitable) in the gardens. The lane ends by the house and the only possible vehicle you may see is a tractor!
Principle rooms: Large kitchen/diner, separate dining room, huge sitting room with wood burner and tv/dvd player. Downstairs shower room and toilet, plus utility room with washing machine. Upstairs are 3 very large bedrooms. One double bed, one twin room and one huge triple room (3 single beds). Also a bathroom with a bath. Beware, care needs to be taken upstairs, there are open beams crossing the floor! Ideal for large family gatherings.
Outside living areas: Fully surrounded by gardens with a patio area with patio furniture.
Caen (Carpiquet), approx. 30 mins.
To reach Le Manchion near St Honorine de Ducy in France, leave Bayeux on the D572. Go through St Paul du Vernay, cross D13 and after about 3km you will come to a 5 way crossroads. Le Manchion is the bottom house on the house list. Turn right, follow the road through Hameu Langlois and then turn left down the tiny country lane. The house is at the end of this little road.
