Green Kiln is situated in the village of Tirril, which has a pub and shop and lies on the road to Ullswater. It has the benefit of being situated only five minutes drive to Pooley Bridge and Ullswater.
Nearby Ullswater is the Lake District’s second largest lake at nine miles long. Located in the eastern side of Cumbria, it bends and twists its way through dramatic mountain scenery on one side and a gently curving shoreline of green fields and woodland on the other. Boating centres and marinas nestle unobtrusively on the lake edge, perfect for the watersports enthusiasts, or visitors can relax and enjoy the scenery from one of the steamers that have sailed the lake since 1855.
Many of the Lake District’s many walks have their starting point from around Ullswater, including the renowned trek to Helvellyn’s summit via Striding Edge. Or for the less energetic there are many low-level walks through beautiful countryside.
Nearby places worthy of exploration are Glenridding which sits on the south western shore and is surrounded by the fells with wonderful scenic views. Pooley Bridge on the northern shore, with its 16th Century Bridge, Lakeland greystone houses and quaint teashops and Patterdale just to the south of Ullswater, cradled by mountains. Keswick is only 20mins by car from Tirril.

The cottage retains its character and is complimented with excellent quality furnishings and fittings, including new kitchen and bathrooms. This charming three bedroom property is able to accommodate up to six guests.
