Grangeneuve Barn is situated in the beautiful countryside of South Western France, in the Périgord Vert. This department is the largest of the French departments and is considered by the French to be the lungs of France. Grangeneuve is surrounded by fields of sunflowers and maize in the summer. It looks out over woodland and softly rolling hills.
The property is halfway between two villages, a ten minute walk, each with bar/restaurant. This Michelin rated area of outstanding beauty is a tranquil and restful spot yet within quick and easy reach of activity centres. It is a great area for walking, cycling, canoeing, relaxing, with bar concerts in the summer. The small towns of Verteillac and St. Severin are well serviced with a baker, butcher, post office and bank, whilst Riberac with its large supermarkets, wonderful Friday morning market and the River Dronne is only twelve minutes away. There are several chateaux in the area and, of course, plenty of good restaurants and bars. A car is essential to fully explore this lovely region of France.
Grangeneuve Barn in south west France is a charming four bedroom property to accommodate a maximum of six guests.
Accommodation includes a large open plan fully equipped living/dining/kitchen area on the first floor with large windows. There is a false balcony with French windows. The ceiling is open up to the pine lined roof and all the original beams are on display. There are three bedrooms on this floor, two twin rooms, one decorated in child friendly material and a bunk room, which is only suitable for children. There is also a bathroom with shower.
There is a double bedroom on the ground floor, which looks out onto the terrace and garden through rose lined French doors. There is a large hallway, large bathroom with separate shower stall and a utility room with washing machine. One side of the ground floor still has the original oak mangers on display. Two sides are covered with climbing roses and kiwi vines and lavender bushes. All rooms have mosquito nets and anti-mosquito diffusers.
On site facilities include a shared outdoor swimming pool, fenced and alarmed to French standards, Gardens, Garden Furniture, BBQ and ample parking.
