Dairymaid's Cottage at Doxford Farm Cottages is located at Chathill, near Alnwick, Northumberland.
The Farm has both arable and livestock enterprises and supports various conservation and environmental stewardship schemes. The Cottages are located at the end of a no-through road, thus creating a safe and quiet environment for guests. The lake holds brown trout and guests are welcome to fly fish by arrangement with the Estate Manager. We have five miles of wooded and lakeside walks and trails for our guests to explore the farm and our diverse wildlife.
This property makes an ideal base for exploring this lovely part of Northumberland. Dotted along the coast are the castles of Warkworth, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh, also the Priory and Castle of Holy Island. As well as these landmarks, there are many great houses including Cragside and Wallington which are open to the public. A car is essential to fully explore this lovely part of Northumberland.
Dairymaid's Cottage in Chathill, near Alnwick, Northumberland is a fabulous, three bedroom property to accommodate six guests. The property has been awarded four stars by the English Tourism Council.
Accommodation: Good size sitting room, well furnished with a television and video. Fully equipped kitchen/dining area including an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge/freezer. Upstairs three bedrooms, a double, a twin and a room with bunks. The bathroom is large with a bath and separate shower. There are no meters and all the heating and hot water is provided by oil fired central heating.
There is also ample car parking at the rear of the Cottage.

To reach Dairymaid's Cottage at Doxford Farm Cottages in Northumberland, if travelling north, bypass Alnwick. Five miles north of Alnwick take a right turn, the B6347 by a large square farmhouse on your right. Follow the B6347 for about two miles and take a left to Doxford Farm. Alternatively, follow the brown and white signs to Doxford Country Store (our farm shop!). Collect keys at the shop and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee.
If travelling south, bypass Belford. Four miles south of Belford you will come to a dual carriageway. Continue south to the end of the dual carriageway and one mile south take a left turn onto the B6347 by a large square farmhouse on your right. Follow the B6347 for about two miles and take a left to Doxford Farm. Alternatively, follow the brown and white signs to Doxford Country Store. Collect keys at the shop and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee. Further details available from the property owner upon confirmation of the booking.
