The luxurious holiday cottages are ideally located at Craigendarroch, near Ballater on beautiful Royal Deeside in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The variety of shops in Ballater is surprising given its small size. The Royal Family use Ballater for much of the supplies for Balmoral Castle and for nearby Birkhall so that many shops in the village display Royal Warrant signs. Many of the fine houses have been turned into hotels and guest houses and the town also supports an unusually high concentration of good restaurants. With the watchword being quality, visitors to Ballater are ensured a very enjoyable stay.
Nearby winter sporting facilities are close to hand at Lecht and Glenshee ski areas. Nearby Balmoral Castle is open from April to July each year and is only a five minute drive away, in addition to many other historic houses and whisky distilleries in this area of outstanding beauty. Other nearby attractions include The Old Royal Station at Ballater, Balmoral Castle, Royal Lochnagar Distillery, Crathie Kirk, Glen Muick and Lochnagar Wildlife Reserve, The Lecht Mountain Activity Area. A car is essential to fully enjoy all this lovely area has to offer.
The superior holiday cottages at Craigendarroch in Aberdeenshire, Scotland boast all the facilities of a five star hotel located in a woodland resort. All units have a television, video and telephone. In the larger units the bathrooms have a sauna and a whirlpool. Particularly attractive in spring and autumn, most lodges afford commanding views of Lochnagar.
The Resort offers everything you could require in the way of facilities, with a fifty five foot lagoon indoor swimming pool and tennis courts. The hotel offers an elegant restaurant with an a la carte menu, whereas the Club House offers a more relaxed restaurant with theme evenings such as a Chinese menu. Every evening there is a Happy Hour on selected wines and beers. There is a distinct Scottish feel to this Resort with two restaurants, a lovely indoor swimming pool and bars. The Study Bar in the Old House is notably welcoming. Sorry strictly no pets, however the Resort can recommend kennels nearby. Please note additional charges are payable to the Resort for some of the facilities.
