Porthcurno, Porthchapel and Porthgwarra beaches are all within two miles, offering access to those with cars and children needing instant access. The Logan Rock pub is some 50 yards down the road, as is the local shop which can supply most day to day necessities.
Penzance is the nearest market town with the usual variety of high street shops, and on the edge of town are two supermarkets. Lands End, St Ives and Penzance are all about eight miles, with the Helston and Lizard Peninsular day trip options.
The area is popular with walkers and there are some fabulous walks - both inland and along the cliffs. The coastline is rugged with magnificent scenery and often stunning sunsets. Walk, or drive by road along the cliff to the spectacular open air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno - where there are performances most evenings during the summer. They also have a delightful cafe overlooking Pedny and the Logan Rock cliffs. Penberth cove is less than a mile away and still operates as a working fishing cove with open boats. If you want fishing on a larger scale - visit Newlyn - one of the largest fishing posts in the country. Also in Newlyn and St Ives there are innumerable art galleries and interesting shops. The National Trust owns much of the surrounding coastline - there are also a number of properties - houses and gardens which are nearby and open to the public. Visit nearby Sennen beach which has two surfing schools and you can hire (or buy) all the equipment you could possibly need for this sport.
