PROPERTY DETAILS

The Area

The Dower House is situated above the River Duddon on the fells where the mountains sweep down to the sea providing beautiful scenery and a wealth of outdoor activities. For hill walkers the Dunnerdale Fells are on the doorstep and a little further afield are the famous slopes of The Old Man of Coniston. To the north the wonderful valley of Wasdale awaits - the home to the highest mountain in England Sca Fell Pike. The flat sandy beaches of the Cumbrian coast are a short drive away many having sandy coves, rock pools and peace and quiet. For the more adventurous sand yachting, windsurfing and sea fishing are readily available. The towns and villages of the Lake District range from the bustling to the sleepy and are a delight to explore. With historic sights, breathtaking scenery and country houses all to explore it is difficult to imagine a more perfect holiday location.
