Casa Afortunanda is located in Tindaya, a small village with lots of open space for walking and mountain biking, with spectacular views to the sea. Tindaya is a peaceful, unspoilt village close to La Oliva, twenty minutes by car to Puerto del Rosario - the island capital, twenty minutes to Corralejo, a bustling seaside resort and fifteen minutes from the beautiful fishing village and beaches of El Cotillo.
Dominating the landscape in Tindaya is Montana de Tindaya, a sacred place for the indigenous people of the island and where important archaeological remains have been found, such as pod morphs - carvings representing shapes of human feet.
Tindaya has a stunning beach. It is never busy since many people that even live on the island cannot find their way along the tracks; a well kept secret! Locally produced goats cheese can be purchased from the local shops in this rural, farming village. There are regular buses to Corralejo and Puerto del Rosario from Tindaya, however a car is essential to fully explore this lovely rural area of Fuerteventura.
