Caisealrag Cottage in Crear, Argyll, Scotland is perfectly located in a secluded rural location with sandy beaches only a few moments walk and spectacular views to the Islands of Gigha, Islay, Jura and the coast of Ireland.
There is unlimited walking for miles around in all directions with the Kintyre Way starting further along the road in the picturesque fishing village of Tarbert. Argyll and Bute has some of the most spectacular and interesting gardens in the country, many of which are open year round. Crear is located in the heart of three of the most well known whisky distilling regions in Scotland, ideal for a fascinating, informative day out for beginners or connoisseurs alike.
As part of the Seafood Trail and within walking distance is the Kilberry Inn, recently voted Best Restaurant in Scotland, you can wine and dine on the most delicious local produce. You can also cook with freshly caught seafood landed daily in the fishing village of Tarbert and meat from the neighbouring farm. A car is essential at this property.
Caisealrag Cottage in Crear, Argyll was built in the 1880's, a traditional stone cottage that has been sympathetically restored with an emphasis on comfort, warmth and understated luxury. This charming three bedroom property is able to accommodate up to six guests.
Accommodation: Large open plan living area with satellite tv, cd player and warm stone floors, you can sink into deep squashy arm chairs and relax and unwind in front of the wood burning stove watching the vast expanse of ever changing skies through floor to ceiling windows. Open plan kitchen with fan oven, electric hob, microwave and fridge. Utility room with Meile washing machine, clothes horse, iron and ironing board, double sink and dishwasher. The original stone cottage sleeps two in a bespoke cherry wood bed with ensuite bathroom. There is one twin room and one super-king bedroom in the separate extension, both with ensuite shower rooms. The duvets and pillows at Caisealrag are pure down, please advise if you require feather free bedding. The property also has a landline telephone, as mobile coverage may not be reliable.
Dogs are welcome to sleep in the porch, if they bring their own beds. A kennel is also available on request.

To reach Caisealrag Cottage in Argyll, Scotland, from Glasgow take the A82 out of Glasgow to Loch Lomond and Tarbert. (If you’re coming from the airport take the M8 towards the Erskine Bridge. Cross the bridge and pick up to A82 to Loch Lomond and Tarbert.) In Tarbert turn left onto the A83 to Arrochar and Inveraray. In Inveraray take the A83 towards Campbeltown. Drive through Lochgilphead and continue on the A83 in the direction of Campbeltown. About 2 miles after Ardrishaig, turn sharp right onto the B8024 to Kilberry. Follow this road for 14 miles. After about 13 miles you’ll see Crear’s red roof in the distance on your left and you’ll pass a ruin on your right and Caisealrag Cottage is the next building on the left hand side of the road with a blue roof. Turn left into the driveway. Please note that the nearest petrol station to Crear is in Lochgilphead, on the right hand side as you approach the town from Inveraray.
