Brook House Studio at Bassenthwaite Hall Farm in Cumbria lies in the delightful village of Bassenthwaite, nestling at the foot of Skiddaw.
The Studio lies in a idyllic sleepy hollow beside a beautiful stream with ducks and a white wooden footbridge. A gentle stroll further up the riverside takes you to a 17th century Inn, where good food is served every day. Bassenthwaite Lake is a pleasant two miles walk away.
The popular Lake District market town of Keswick, on the shores of Derwentwater, and Cockermouth, the town of William Wordsworth's family home, are only fifteen minutes away. Nearby is the famous Osprey viewpoint and also Mirehouse Historic House and Gardens with adventure playground, and Trotters' World of Animals.
Bassenthwaite is an ideal location for exploring all of the Lake District and the Cumbrian countryside including the Solway Coast, the historic border city of Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall and the lovely Eden Valley. A car is essential to fully explore this lovely part of the Lake District National Park.

Accommodation: The entrance from the farmyard opens into a good sized porch, useful for coats and boots, leading to a bedroom area with a double and a single bed, comfortable lounge area with colour television and a kitchen area with basic cooking facilities. Beyond this is a doorway through to a shower/toilet room. The property is tastefully decorated with pine wood panelling and patchwork quilts.
Sheets, pillowslips, towels, tea towels and toilet rolls to be provided by guests. Sheets, pillowslips and towels may be hired at an additional charge, if requested in advance of arrival.
On site facilities include a laundry with washing machines and tumble dryers (small charge applies) and a drying room for walkers' outdoor clothing. There is ample on site parking.

To reach Brook House Studio at Bassenthwaite Hall Farm in Cumbria, from the south take the M6 to Junction 40 (Penrith) and turn off here onto the A66 towards Keswick. Do not turn for town centre. Go straight to the roundabout on the outskirts of Keswick. Take the last turn off here for Carlisle (A591). Travel for six miles then turn off right for Bassenthwaite Village at the black and white house. It is half a mile to the village from here. The farm and cottages are by the white wooden footbridge by the stream in the village. Further details available from the property owner upon confirmation of the booking.
