Brandelhowe is located in Portinscale, near Keswick in Cumbria, a small village, just one mile to the west of Keswick, in the heart of the Cumbria North Lakes, on the northern shore of Derwentwater. Portinscale has a village store, an attractive coffee/tea room and the four star Derwentwater Hotel restaurant. The Farmers Arms is a five minute walk, providing excellent fare, with the local Jennings beers brewed in nearby Cockermouth.

Nearby Keswick is a thriving town with an excellent supermarket and a variety of charming shops. There is also an abundance of eating houses for all tastes. Local entertainment include the renowned "Theatre by the Lake", parks, museums, a miniature golf course, at Threlkeld a full 18 hole course, a leisure pool and a cinema. Horse riding, fishing and watersports are also available in the immediate area. A car is essential to fully explore this beautiful area.

Directions

Brandelhowe at Derwent House is situated in Portinscale near Keswick in Cumbria. Portinscale lies off the A66 just to the West of Keswick. From junction 40 on M6, take the A66 past Keswick, watch for the sign to turn left for "Portinscale, Grange and Newlands valley". On turning left follow road (past Farmers Arms on your left) and then after 200 yards (and where road goes right) you turn left. We are then some 60 yards on the left, immediately before the Derwentwater Hotel opposite. Further details available from property owner upon confirmation of booking.
