The superb Côte d’Opale is about thirty minutes away, where you’ll discover wide sandy beaches and fishing villages with fish stalls and fish restaurants all along the coast.
Boufflers is situated between the two market towns of Auxi-le-Château and Crécy-en-Ponthieu. To the north is the larger town of Hesdin, to the south is Abbeville and the beautiful city of Amiens, with its canals and cathedral, is less than an hour away. Paris can be visited easily in a day, as can Belgium.
The area around Boufflers is very quiet, but the mediaeval battlefields of Crécy and Agincourt are not far away. Historic sites from the two world wars, including the battlefields of the Somme and the Menin Gate memorial are an easy drive away.
Sporting activities such as canoeing and horse riding are available locally and there are several excellent golf courses nearby. In spring, the beach at Berck hosts an annual kite-flying competition and sand yachting is possible all year round. A car is essential at this property for full exploration of the surrounding area.
