Carihuela Playa Sol

Spent a pleasant week at Carihuela Playa Sol - the area is wonderful, lots of restaurants and bars (although not all were open!). Loads of things to do in the area but at the apartment block only an unheated pool.

The staff were very nice and helpful and allowed us to stay beyond the normal check out time because our flight was early evening.

The apartment was very clean but a bit dated - very 80s/90s. There is no washing machine but there was air conditioning. They do seem to be refurbing the outside of the block as it was being painted while we were there.

There are no entertainment facilites at the block so it is ideal if you want a quiet night in. However, the only English channel was CNN and once you've seen one report twenty times in the evening it wears thin. Did find a Dutch channel though that was showing Baywatch and the A Team with Dutch subtitles.

The area is great - a lovely walk along the prom takes you to Torremolinos one way and Benalmadena the other. Excellent exercise and plenty of places to stop off for the odd drop of vino!

Would recommend the area highly.
