We stayed in ground floor apartment in the Stable Mews with 1 bedroom, fully fitted and well equipped kitchen with dish washer and washer/dryer, large lounge with patio doors onto court yard and view of Rutland Water. Leisure centre has nice swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, gym and beauty/hair salon. The restaurant is well known in the area but is expensive. The welcome meeting was run by very friendly, helpful staff and we were given lots of information on the area and better still nobody tried to sell us anything! The site is on the edge of Rutland Water with nice views and foot/cycle path going all the way round, about 25 miles, with several car parks, cafes and cycle hire. Unfortunately many places of interest were closed for the winter, but these are worth a visit - Stamford, Oakham, Uppingham, The Falconry & Owl Centre at Exton, Gates Garden Centre at Cold Overton and Barnsdale Gardens at Exton (as seen on TV). This is a great area if you like walking or cycling.
