Stallion Springs, Tehachapi is situated in inland California, approximately 3 hours from Los Angeles and 4 hours from Las Vegas. Not , perhaps the obvious choice for most, we discovered it when it was necessary to change destinations at the last minute, from Florida, as a result of hurricane activity.

The resort is situated on the edge of the Mojave desert and in spectacular countryside, surrounded by the Tehachapi mountains, part of the Sierra Nevada range.

This is not a place to visit for fine dining - very much middle America, but the environment is very safe, the locals helpful and friendly, plus impressive scenery, wildlife and many marked trails to explore.

A delightful and under-utilised golf course is nearby; other facilities include tennis and a spa. Furthermore the units rank among the best we have encountered, furnished and decorated to a very high standard.
