PROPERTY DETAILS
Waters Reach is located in the lovely village of Appledore, a totally unspoilt, ship building/fishing, character village, with cobbled streets, drangs and courtyards. At high tide, buy your locally made ice-cream and stroll along the quay or catch the ferry over to Instow. Watch the children crabbing, the lifeboat practice on Tuesday evenings, the band playing on Sunday evenings, the trawler men selling their daily catch, sailing boats with spinnakers up ready for the adventure out to sea, or maybe stop for a drink with the locals in the many pubs. At low tide, the salmon fishermen still Seine fish off the foreshore and there are many little fish pools to peer into, but be very careful with an incoming tide, you might get your feet wet!
The Co-Op in Appledore is open until 10 o'clock in the evening all week. Good food is available in the local pubs with sea views.
A few miles up the Torridge is Bideford, yet another Devon town with a quay. Across the river is Instow with its beach and yachts, a real summer sun trap. East along the Coast lies the huge expense of Saunton Sands, whilst west lies the rugged North Devon coast, stretching all the way to Clovelly with its cobbled streets, and beyond to Hartland Point. A car is essential to fully appreciate all this lovely area has to offer.
There are fantastic uninterrupted views over the stunning Torridge estuary from this three storey, 200-year-old Georgian house in popular Irsha Street. The house is one of the most charming properties in the lovely village of Appledore. It is extremely well equipped and newly decorated throughout. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen with television, a small breakfast room and a luxurious shower room. On the first floor a lovely drawing room with large double sash windows overlooking the whole estuary. On the second floor, to the rear a twin bedded room overlooking Appledore's roofs and gardens. To the front a double bedroom with great views of the river estuary.
Waters Reach is a comfortable family home with spectacular views. Well behaved pets are welcome, downstairs only. The property is not really suitable for children under three years old due to steep stairs and smoking is not allowed. Extra Charge: £20 cleaning charge.
