Wanney Cottage in Northumberland is in a peaceful location, offering modern facilities. It is ideally situated for exploring the Northumbria National Park, Kielder Water, Hadrian's Wall, Pennine Way, Border Country, Northumberland Coast or visiting the historical Northumbrian market towns of Hexham, Morpeth and Alnwick. The famous Gateshead Metro Shopping Centre is within easy reach, as is the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne, the Scottish Borders or a day trip to Edinburgh. Provisions are available in the nearby town of Bellingham, 6 miles, or from the market town of Hexham, 16 miles.
Wanney Cottage in Ridsdale, is a spacious and comfortable 19th century former quarryman’s cottage set high in the Northumberland countryside. The Cottage has one double bedroom, one single bedroom and a bathroom with an over the bath shower. Fully equipped kitchen/diner including a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, lounge and sun room, with a bed settee. There is central heating throughout the Cottage with a wood burning stove in the lounge. Bed linen and towels are included. The property also has a private garden and private parking, with stunning views of the Cheviot Hills.
Fuel and electricity are included in the price from April to September. During the winter months, October to March, there is a small £20 per week supplement for extra heating. One basket of logs for the stove is provided. Dogs and other small pets are welcome by prior agreement. Due to the fairly steep stairs, the Cottage may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.

Wanney Cottage is situated in the village of Ridsdale, near Hexham in Northumberland. Ridsdale is on the A68 between Corbridge and Otterburn. The Cottage is located on a private road, 250 metres off the A68. The nearest railway station is 16 miles away in Hexham and Newcastle airport is 25 miles.
