Quite close to The Willows is a village in the direction of Chalais, called Aubiterre, the prettiest village in France. It has the oldest Monolithic Church and well worth a visit. At the same time you could visit Chalais, the big market is on Monday mornings. St Emillion and the surrounding area is a Mecca for wine buffs and the town is beautiful. A train ride around the vineyards etc. is available. The beautiful town of Cognac is approximately a half hours drive away and is the most chic town in Charente, it has lovely shopping and restaurants, or why not take a visit to one of the cognac producers? The Vines is set in the tranquil countryside of Charente, yet only 1 hour to Bordeaux, Royan and La Rochelle, 30 mins to Angouleme, St Emillion and Aubiterre, 2 hours from Poitiers, Futuroscope and Biarritz. The property also adjoins a National Park.
The Willows in Touverac, France is very well appointed and the generous accommodation comprises of one twin and one double bedroom, both ensuite. The lounge has a television, and VHS player, double bed, a three piece suite, a single bed and a cot are also provided. The large, fully fitted kitchen has two fridges and a microwave oven. The property is on one level with easy wheelchair access. There is also an onsite shared laundry room with washing machine and toilet for pool use.
The property is set in over an acre of landscaped gardens with lawns sweeping down to the 12m outdoor swimming pool, which has a roman end with steps for easy access and fully alarmed. The property has its own terrace, garden furniture, sun loungers, a BBQ, children's bikes, etc. The property is fully fenced for safety and security. The fishing lake in the grounds is stocked with carp up to 30lbs, tench etc. The Willows is part of a group of buildings with the owner also having a house on site.
