The Old Stables is located on The Kingston Estate, which is situated in the South Hams, Devon, encompassed by the tranquil surroundings of the beautiful South Devon countryside. As one of the finest surviving examples of early eighteenth century architecture in Britain today, Kingston House and its grounds are packed with history. The House and cottages are rated five stars. The beautifully restored self catering holiday cottages are situated in the 18th century cobbled courtyard.
The Old Stables makes an ideal base for exploring this lovely part of Devon with a variety of activities available nearby including sailing, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and carriage driving. Kingston also now offers half price green fees at a range of golf courses within easy reach including Dinnaton, Elfordleigh, Yelverton, Wrangaton, Dartmouth Golf and Country Club and Dainton Park Golf Club.
The Old Stables on the Kingston Estate in Devon has been created in one half of the 18th Century break front Coach House built at the same time as Kingston House 1726-1735.
Entering the cottage, the visitor is immediately faced with the original stable wall manger, now purely decorative. There is a stylish, fully equipped kitchen through an arch in the sitting room, which is both visually pleasing and equipped for entertaining. With light and airy sitting rooms, French doors lead to a private terrace with views to the west over the countryside towards Dartmoor, and distinctive staircases built on the Estate. This lovely property offers accommodation for four guests in great style. The Old Stables has two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a triple aspect and enjoys wonderful views, has a beautiful four poster bed and an ensuite shower room. The second bedroom is a light and spacious twin bedded room, adjoining a well appointed bathroom with bath and shower.
The Kingston Estate is a pet friendly establishment. Pets are charged at £20 each and several dogs are welcome, this includes a free doggie pack on arrival. The estate is perfect for dogs, with fenced gardens, paddocks and a wood for short walks.
On site there is also a lovely indoor exercise pool, sauna, spa, mini gym with multi gym, rowing machine, cross trainer, static bicycle, snooker table for adults and table tennis table, please supply bats and balls.
