The luxurious holiday apartments at Schloss Grubhof lie in the idyllic Austrian Alps between Salzburg and Kitzbühl. From here you can reach Zell am See in 20 minutes by car. Lofer is a lovely village with several good restaurants, bars and cafés. In the winter Lofer is the preferred starting point for skiers, and in the summer it is the ideal starting point for trips to the lakes or into the mountains. A car is highly recommended in order to explore all this lovely area has to offer. Lofer lies nestled by the Loferer, the Reither and the Leoganger Steinberge mountains, at the confluence of the major valley routes between Salzburg to the North, Saalfelden and Zell am See to the South and Kitzbuhel and Innsbruck to the West. The village of Lofer itself lies at just over 600m altitudes, the surrounding Steinberge mountains, are an accessible range of peaks of around 2500m. Only a short distance away is Austria's highest peak the Grossglockner, at a height of 3797m.
The lovely holiday apartments at Schloss Grubhof at Martin bei Lofer in Austria are situated in an old castle built in the 14th century. The Resort has four levels with access for the handicapped. Guests are accommodated on the first floor of this magnificent building. The oldest part of the castle dates back to the year 1325, the King of Bavaria often spent time here. The castle has been altered into luxurious apartments which are all furnished with antiques, some have four poster beds and ceiling paintings. Tennis courts and sundecks for relaxation are situated in the grounds. There is a choice of studio units sleeping 2, 1 bedroom units sleeping 4 and 2 bedroom units sleeping 6. All have kitchenette, central heating, television, radio and telephone. Unfortunately no pets are allowed at this Resort. Tourist tax and utility charges are payable to the Resort. All units with numbers higher than 30 can only be reached via stair, unfortunately there is no elevator at the Resort. A deposit has to be paid upon arrival. In the case of late arrival, please contact the Resort in advance to arrange alternatives. Utility fees for electricity, water and heating should be paid at Reception on arrival.

To reach Schloss Grubhof in Austria, from Salzburg take the quickest route via Germany, the old border posts at Bad Reichenhall and at Steinpass are well signposted. Take the B312 and you will soon reach Lofer. On leaving Lofer, after the petrol station and the tourist office, the road splits, go in the direction of Zell Am See. After approximately 700 meters you arrive at Martin bei Lofer, turn left immediately after the sign indicating the town’s name, this leads to a wood and a drive. Enter through the gates and the gravel drive leads you directly to the main entrance.
