Offering both hotel and self catering accommodation in an idyllic location, Portsonachan, near Dalmally in Argyll, Scotland is an excellent resort from which to explore the surrounding countryside and its many attractions. Situated on the banks of the beautiful Loch Awe, Portsonachan is a 1.5 hour drive from Glasgow, a 2.5 hour drive from Edinburgh and only a 1 hour drive from Oban, Gateway to the Isles.
Whether you want to fish, play golf, take a sail on the loch, walk or simply relax and read a book, there is plenty for you to experience in this lovely part of north west Scotland.
3 bedroom units
Comprising of fully equipped kitchen with dining area for eight with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, cooker, microwave, lounge with wide screen colour TV and DVD player, HiFi, sauna, exercise room, main bathroom, second bathroom/shower. Bedroom one with double bed and built in wardrobe and free standing dressing table. Bedroom two with twin beds and free standing wardrobe and dressing table. Bedroom three either double full size bunk bed or a single 3'6" bed, please notify the resort in advance of your requirements, plus a further sofa bed in the lounge to sleep two with a 4" sprung mattress. The lodges sit on the side of the loch with a veranda and fully built in barbecue, plus external table to seat eight and fantastic views over the loch.
2 bedroom units
Description is as above except there is no washing machine or exercise room. The main bedroom has an ensuite and the main bathroom has both a sauna and a power shower. These units have a first floor lounge and kitchen/diner and are in an elevated position overlooking the loch with stunning views.
1 bedroom units
One double bedroom with ensuite, lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. These units also enjoy an elevated position overlooking the loch with magnificent views.
The Coach House consists of a mixture of 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom and studio apartments. Ness is a two bedroom two bathroom apartment. Lugnaig is a two bedroom one bathroom apartment. There are also 4 Coach House Studio Apartments with bathrooms, see below for more details and six Coach House one bedroom, one bathroom apartments. One of these apartments is a one bedroom apartment, Rannoch, which is a single level disabled unit. Ness is also disabled friendly, as it is all on one level.
4 x Coach House Studio Apartments Sleep 2. The stylish and cosy apartments feature a full bathroom with full size bath and integral shower, fully equipped kitchen, HiFi, Colour TV, DVD player and sofa style double bed. The cosy apartments are ideal for a couple and provide all amenities at a budget price.
10 x 1 Bedroom Lochside Suites Sleep 4. These spectacular units have a large double bedroom with integrated Villroy & Boch bathroom, full HiFi system and colour TV with DVD player. Ground floor wet shower room, full kitchen including dishwasher, lounge with leather sofas (one of which is a sofa bed with 4" sprung mattress), patio with seating on the loch shore, full central heating and double glazing with large patio doors affording unbelievable views over the surrounding area, private parking in dedicated unit parking and highland slate flooring so that the unit is outdoor pursuits friendly.

To reach Portsonachan Hotel Estate Lodges in Argyll, Scotland, follow the M74 to Glasgow. Follow the signs to Glasgow Airport and then to the Erskine Bridge. Cross the bridge and take the A82 to Tarbet, then the A83 to Inveraray. From Inveraray take the B840, which is signposted Cladich and Ford. Follow this road for approximately four miles.
From Edinburgh, take the M9 towards Stirling until junction 10 to Callander. From there head towards Lochearnhead. Continue on the A85 to Crianlarich and then on towards Oban which will take you to Dalmally. Keep on the A85 until you see the sign for Inveraray, which will take you onto the A819. Travel along this road for five miles until you come to the Cladich turnoff. Take this road and follow it for approximately four miles.
