Situated on the southern outskirts of the historic market town of Hexham ( recently voted "Best Market Town" ) this traditional stone Northumbrian farm house sits in its own south facing garden providing wholly private accommodation.
Central to Hexham off the market place is the Abbey founded in 674AD by St Wilfred and a must for any visitor along with the Old Gaol and Moot Hall and Gallery.
Hexham offers shops, supermarkets, restaurants and country pubs and sports facilities of many kinds. There are no less than four golf courses within easy reach ( including the PGA approved Slaley Hall course ) and fishing, riding and sailing are all available locally. National Hunt racing is only 1/2 mile away.
Visit and walk Hadrian's Wall and see Housesteads fort and Vindolanda. Go to Alnwick Castle for the " Hogwarts " experience and relax in the Duchess' Garden. Take the Coastal Route and see the castles and wonderful beaches and cross the causeway to Holy Island. Explore Northumberland National Park and Kielder Forest Park continuing up into the wild and romantic Borders. Visit Newcastle for its nightlife on the Quayside and the Baltic Centre for Contempory Arts and the Sage Gateshead Music Centre.
The cottage sleeps 4+cot- one double bedroom and one twin-bedded room.
Enjoy the farmhouse dining room/kitchen with oil fired Aga. Relax in front of the open sitting room fire.
Garden furniture and bar-b-queue are provided.
It is fully centrally heated and all necessary electrical appliances are provided as well as all bed linen, towels etc.and cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. All electricity, fuel oil, coal and logs are included.
Grazing and Stabling may be available for 2 horses or ponies. 2 well behaved dogs allowed.
