L'ancienne Poste in France is a stunningly beautiful house with panoramic views of the Dordogne River and four Chateaux. You can stroll to restaurants, food and antique shops, art galleries, the summer market, Chateau de Beynac and the Dordogne River. You can go canoeing, hot air ballooning, take bike tours and walking tours, all in Beynac.
This house is situated near the lovely Medieval town of Sarlat in the Dordogne. Nearby attractions, such as the Bastide of Domme, Lascaux Caves, Rocamadour, Font de Gaume cave paintings, troglodyte houses, Sarlat and even the Bordeaux and Bergerac vineyards are all within easy reach of the property.
L'ancienne Poste in France is a beautiful, honey coloured stone, three bedroomed home, which was formally the village Post Office, parts of which date from the 13th century.
The main living, dining and kitchen area and all the bedrooms have panoramic views. The living room has a log burner for romantic evenings in with British Satellite TV. The kitchen opens onto the terrace with table and chairs for sunny al fresco breakfasts and shaded evening meals with a glass of Bergerac wine.
The Garden Bedroom, has an ensuite bathroom, carved wooden double bed and Mediaeval stone archway with French doors, opening onto the south facing garden. The Balcony Bedroom has a king-size bed and double French doors giving panoramic views of the Dordogne valley below; it has an ensuite shower room and ceiling fan. The Vaulted Bedroom has a double and a single bed, with a beautiful vaulted beamed ceiling and ceiling fans, an ensuite shower room and panoramic river views. The beds will be made up with crisp white cotton bed linen and there will be two bathroom and one pool towel per guest. There is heating in all the rooms.
Outside there is a lovely south facing garden, terraces and a private swimming pool with a sun deck and shaded flower covered seating area. There are ample sun loungers and chairs for all guests. L'ancienne Poste is accessible by car and has the advantage of a private covered double garage, formerly the village forge, which is a rarity in this Medieval village. However, access is tight for large vehicles.
