The region around Kyneton is abundant with culture and history, a tribute to interesting people and their monuments and a wonderful natural adventure. Hedgerows and dry stone walls, bluestone buildings and bridges mark the villages centred around Kyneton. The great Campaspe River and its tributaries meet the Loddon in these lands, where the rivers flow north and south.
This land well used by people from time immemorial, and the Aboriginal culture. Heritage of this area adds another fascinating dimension to the exploration of folklore among the rocks, rivers, mountains and byways of the Kyneton area.
Please note that check in is at 4 pm and it is not possible for guests to check in early. Overseas guests may be accommodated if the resort is advised in advance. Also if you expect to arrive late, after 8:30 pm please contact the resort to arrange check in. A car is recommended for full enjoyment of this area. There are no telephones in the units but there is a phone on site for public use.
Melbourne 1 hr 15 mins
From Melbourne: Leave the city area by Flemington Road and the
Tullamarine Freeway, which becomes the Calder Highway as long as you follow the signs for Bendigo. It is best to be two or three lanes wide to make the transition to Bendigo as 90% of the traffic will move left to head for the airport, which you do not want to do. This transition happens about 10 minutes up the Freeway from the city edge.
You will pass through the township of Woodend after approx 45 minutes, then another 15mins approx you will see the Kyneton Signs.
Take the SECOND turn off and turn right at the roundabout, crossing
the bridge over the freeway.
NOTE...we drive clockwise around roundabouts...NOT anti clockwise.
Follow the signs for Kyneton Bushland Resort which is approx
two minutes [2.5kms] from the roundabout.
