PROPERTY DETAILS
From its idyllic setting Ballyshannon looks out over the Erne Estuary and has panoramic views of mountains, lakes and forests. It is a thriving Arts and Cultural Centre. Ballyshannon is the gateway to County Donegal and this makes it a superb base from which to tour the county as well as the neighbouring counties of Fermanagh, Leitrim and Sligo. Shop for local crafts in the many speciality shops and purchase a piece of Donegal Parian China at the Donegal China Visitor Centre. County Donegal presents an ever-changing spectacle of landscapes and seascapes set against a backdrop of mountains and moors, with evidence everywhere of traditional Irish culture. Donegal boasts a vast rugged coastline softened regularly by a succession of beautiful beaches with golden sand and clear fresh waters. Inland, Donegal is wild and unspoilt with winding roads leading to never-ending spectacular vistas. Golfing and fishing are popular activities in County Donegal and there’s no shortage of facilities available. Other major attractions include Glenveagh National Park and Castle, Tory Island, Glebe House and Gallery, Colmcille Heritage Centre, Fort Dunree Military Museum and Abbey Mill Wheels. Donegal also has some interesting archaeological sites; around Ballyshannon, for example, you'll find ruined castles, religious sites and celtic raths.
The detached cottage is warm and comfortable and sits on a ½ acre site and has a large garden and parking area. There is a picnic bench and gas barbeque and the property enjoys panoramic views of Donegal Bay.
