It is surrounded by vineyards and is known for its wine production. The big festival celebrated in Monterrigioni is the Festa Medievale or Medieval Festival held in mid July, it is one of the most renowned of its type in Italy, featuring characters in medieval costume, ancient musical instruments, minstrels and shows. The apartment is located on a working farm that has belonged to the same family from many centuries. The farm buildings have been tastefully restored to provide charming accommodation for guests. The farm in the heart of Tuscany is within easy travelling distance of Florence and Chianti, in the province of Siena. The farm extends to 500 hectares and grows both vines and cereals, as well as breeding cinta senese pigs. On site is a farm shop selling products produced on the farm, garden furniture and ample parking. Guests can also enjoy guided tours of the farm. The outdoor swimming pool, available in the summer months, is located 1km from the apartment.
