Local activities nearby include golf at Ennis, Woodstock, Limerick, Doonbeg and Lahinch, which are all within easy driving distance. Fishing on the River Shannon and the Shannon Estuary, offers all kinds of angling options from sea to fresh water fishing. Co. Clare has a series of well marked cycling routes and some of Ireland's best known walking routes are also in Co. Clare, including The Burren Way, The Lough Derg Way and The Slieve Bloom Way. There is a wonderful selection of equestrian centres within easy reach offering a full range of options for riders of all levels and Limerick Racecourse is just a ten minute drive from Bunratty. The world famous Cliffs of Moher stretch for a spectacular 8kms of rocky coastline rising over 200m above the mighty Atlantic Ocean and The Burren is a natural geological wonder, a National Park covering 250 sq kms.

There are two types of holiday homes at Castle Gardens:
A Three Bedroomed House: Sleeping up to six in one double ensuite bedroom, one twin ensuite bedroom, one twin bedroom and a main bathroom. Three of the three bedroomed houses are registered disabled houses. The ground floor bedroom is suitable for wheelchair users or disabled guests. Parking is directly outside the wheelchair houses.
A Four Bedroomed House: Sleeping up to eight in two doubles and two twins, two bedrooms are ensuite and there is a main bathroom also.
The sitting and living areas have been tastefully decorated and feature an electric fireplace, TV and DVD. The Kitchens are fully fitted and equipped with all modern conveniences including washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and electric oven. Car parking is available in a designated car park close to the houses.
