PROPERTY DETAILS
Akeld is a tiny hamlet tucked into the base of the Cheviot Hills two miles north of Wooler on the A697 in National Park Land. The area is steeped in history, offering visitors a never ending list of alternative things to see. There are castles such as Bamburgh, Alnwick and Floors, museums and stately homes, all within easy access. Wildlife is also evident in abundance and closely linked to the natural surroundings. Holy Island (only accessible at low tide) is of great interest, combined with the unique seal colony and bird sanctuary on the Farne Islands.
The size of the cottages range from a one bedroom unit which accommodates a maximum of two people plus a baby up to two years of age. A two bedroom cottage with a maximum occupancy of four plus a baby up to two years of age. The largest cottage being a three bedroom property which takes a maximum of six people and again a baby up to two years of age. Most, but not all cottages, have both a bath and a shower room, and all the three bedroom cottages have a bathroom and a full shower room, the main bedroom is usually en-suite. Each cottage enjoys a fully fitted kitchen. The additional beds in two and three bedroom units are often bunk beds. The resort does not provide personal towels. The resort does not accept pets. NOTE: Unit 7 & 8 have adult size bunk beds in 2nd bedroom. Unit 15 is for 4 people double bedroom and double sofa bed in lounge. There is a minimum age restriction of 25 at this resort.
