In winter you can ski 400km of pistes in Switzerland's famous "4 Valleys" resort's of La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Thyon, Verbier and Veysonnaz. The World Cup downhill run, Piste de l'Ours is close by and glacier skiing available all year round at Mont Fort (3330m).Excellent snow record and 300 days sun per year.
There are many things to do throughout the season:
Giant slalom, Torchlit Descent, Swiss snow league for every child group, Ski safari or Snowshoe walks, Outdoor 'raclette'
Paragliding, Sled dogs demonstration and tour, Snowblade contest, snowcross on a illuminated track, Guided cross-country skiing or walking excursions
An ideal summer destination for mountain lovers and sun worshippers as it offers more than 300 km of footpaths in pine-scented forests, along the "Bisses" (waterways) and breathtaking scenery amongst the snow capped mountains.
To get a real feel for Swiss culture, gastronomy and the traditions of Veysonnaz, you can attend one of the "Valais" evenings, or take part in cellar-visits, bread-making in the village oven (which dates from 1796), cheese-making in an alpine farm, fruit-picking or harvesting. In June you can see one of Switzerland's most picturesque customs - the taking of cows to high pasture.
There are many sporting activities for you: for hikers there are 300 km of marked paths, for mountain bikers there are 5 different runs with a total length of 70km, for walkers you can take part in a guided walk up to the glacier on the mountain peaks. for golfers there are 6 courses within an hours drive. You can try-out grass-scooters, climbing or paragliding. Skiing is available on the Mont Fort glacier at 3330m
If you just want to relax, there is an indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, massage and keep fit facilities at the Wellness Center, just a short walk from the apartment. (Not available in May and October) Thermal baths are 30 mins away at Saillon.

On the second floor which is serviced by a lift and stairs with breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains and the Valley of Sion below. Designated parking space.

Games Cupboard contains CD's, videos, games and books. Dinning area (table seats 6) and large French doors on 2 sides give magnificent views and lead to balcony.
Large wooden balcony, closely railed up to a height of approx 1 metre. On the second floor so parental supervision is recommended.
Sheets and towels can be provided at additional cost. Payable on arrival.
There is a cleaning service available at an extra cost.

No smoking and no pets allowed. Communal facilities are available to store ski/hiking gear. Washing machine and dryer are available in cummunial laundry room.
Sion 15mins, Geneva 2hrs
Follow signs for Sion then take Sion Ouest exit, give way at T junction and turn left to Nendaz
Go straight over Roundabout, over bridge and sharp left to Nendaz
Go past river on LHS & Industrial Estates to Traffic Lights
Turn Right to Nendaz & Veysonnaz, then straight over roundabout
Go up mountain and pass through villages of Turin, Arvillard, Baar, Brigon, Beuson
At Beuson, approx 8km from traffic lights, turn sharp left for Veysonnaz (If you get to Nendaz, you have gone too far! )
Go up windy road with magnificent views until you can see church
Keep right at fork and carry on approx 1.5km to Veysonnaz
At Veysonnaz, turn right into main street with management company VIP office on RHS
Carry on down main street to Le Greppon Blanc Restaurant
Turn right down steep hill
At bottom of hill, approx 100 metres, turn left
Carry on to end of road, approx 250m, and here are Les Balcons du Soleil.
The first two newer buildings are Balcons du Soleil 2 & 3,
Our parking space is in front of these marked P8 on the ground and Y120 on a small sign on the stone wall.
The smaller chalet block beyond these is Balcons du Soleil 1 (none have names on them, sorry)
